Freemans launches new street food concept at Silverstone

The launch comes after Freemans announced a partnership with Costa Coffee to bring a fleet of pop-up kiosks to events

Freemans Event Partners has announced the launch of Cargo Global Eats, its new street food concept, at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

The new concept comprises a dedicated area of street food including a variety of vendors such as tacos from MeatHead Mexican, sustainable cocktails by Poppy’s Pineapples, burgers from smash specialists Heard, and Spanish food from La Paella Paella.

Freemans hopes that the new concept will provide venues and events with a “compelling product” that can help extend dwell time, increase spend and drive new revenue streams for venues.

The company hopes that its elevated brand appeal will also help venues and events draw more lifestyle-driven fans, who value more than just the sport.

Natasha Thiebaut, chief commercial officer at Freemans Event Partners, said: “With CargoGlobal Eats, we’re taking the spectator experience to the next level, delivering exciting, high-quality food and drink that keeps fans engaged, spending more, and staying longer. It’s more than just food; it’s a world-class street food adventure that creates new revenue opportunities for our event and venue partners.”

The launch comes after Freemans announced a partnership with Costa Coffee to bring a fleet of pop-up kiosks to events.

The move builds on the success of the collaboration between Freemans Event Partners and Costa Coffee during the Summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.

The partnership saw eight mobile kiosks built and deployed in venues across France’s capital. The kiosks sold more than half a million drinks during the event, with the Olympic Village kiosk selling a drink every 13 seconds.

Freemans Event Partners will be redeploying the kiosks at venues across the UK, such as the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham, Cheltenham Racecourse, Badminton Horse Trials and the BMW PGA in Wentworth, Surrey.
